Right Angle Construction and Holly Moore Design partnered on the full renovation of this 1,100 square foot Northwest Portland condo built in 1999. Originally very traditional in style, the project converted the unit into a modern, sleek and contemporary second home for the East Coast owners.
The kitchen was designed to provide a seamless transition into the living room as one room gracefully flows into the next. The kitchen ceiling was raised to create an open, airy feel and allow for gorgeous tall custom with a high gloss acrylic. Calm tones prevail with cement gray quartz countertop and charcoal subway wall tile serving as backsplash throughout.
The bathrooms were given a European touch, with wall hung toilets, cement counter tops and high gloss acrylic cabinets.
The dated hardwood floors were transitioned from dark stained maple to a refined Brazilian cherry wood with an uplifting natural stain. We updated all hardware throughout the home, replacing the original brass with a lovely brushed nickel.
This extensive work transformed a closed-in aesthetic into a welcoming space that represents the current style and feel of modern design living.
The owners, who were based in London during the renovation, were extremely pleased with the results.
